Multicoil Pickups

Multicoil pickups use 1 or more coils to sense the movements of a single string. The result is a tone that is clear and even, punchy without being muddy. A perfect blend between output and clarity. If you're serious about your tone, then these are the pickups for you.

Our coil design is modular, which enables us to fit them into virtually any pickup size that you may have. Looking for something that you don't see here? Let us know! We can accommodate string spacings down to as low as 16mm.

All pickups are made to order, and can be customized with a laser etched and inlaid design.

Individual Coils

  • Individual coils are used to sense the movement of individual strings. This enhances clarity throughout the sonic spectrum.
  • This provides a multitude of wiring options including 1 humbucker per string.
  • Any of our models can be used with an active pickup or passively.

1 Humbucker per string

Pickups with 2 rows of coils can be wired for 1 humbucker/string. This optimizes string to string separation, as well as clarity. Filter based preamps, like those made by Lusithand Devices, can take advantage of this.

2 Voicing Options:

  • Studio

    Studio pickups have a wide magnetic field to enhance dynamics and an overall even frequency response that doesn't color your sound. While the low end bump that's unique to multicoils is still present, the overall response is balanced out due to the stronger, wider magnetic field that increases your high end and your overall output. These pickups bring out the best in your bass, as well as your own unique playing style. You'll hear all of your deep lows without sacrificing your high end. They've been likened to "Having a studio monitor in your bass".

  • Classic

    Classic pickups have more of the traditional multicoil sound: A deeper, very present midrange that's baked into the tone, while still maintaining definition. If you're looking for a more Wal-type tone, these coils, in the 1 humbucker per string format, are what your looking for. Compared to the Studios, Classics have a weaker magnetic field, combined with a larger core, that allows the midrange to be more present and baked into the tone.
