Each half of these pickups is a humbucker, making noise a thing of the past. The magnetic field is wider than a typical P bass pickup, which allows for more overtones to come thru, and a wider dynamic range. Plus, since each string has its own coil, definition is enhanced, adding a new dimension to the P bass sound. Individual coils also means that the turn count per string is high while the induction is low, so clarity is increased while retaining a strong output.
