The M1 Filter was designed to provide voicings and tones that typical basses just can't match. It utilizes a Lusithand Double NFP Special MKII preamp, which consists of 2 resonant peak filters. These filters allow you to actually change the resonant peak of your tone, and this is what really defines your sound. This is combined with the punch and clarity of 2 Code Breaker multicoil pickups, wired so each pickup has 1 humbucker per string. A 34" scale carbon fiber neck completes the package.

Other Features:

The bolt on neck uses machine screws, which makes taking the neck on and off easy and repeatable.
There is a neck plate embedded into the body that acts to greatly increase the strength of the connection between the body and neck, enhancing sustain and giving an overall more solid feel to the bass.
The control cavity cover uses magnets rather than screws, making access to the battery simple, no tools required!
The pickups are hard mounted to the body using machine screws and are fully adjustable. This makes for a solid connection between the pickup and the bass.

Pickup and Preamp Functions

The M1 Filter bass uses a very unique pickup and preamp combination. Both pickups are multicoil pickups, and the coils in each pickup are wired so that there is 1 humbucker per string. This is a unique wiring arrangement that is only able to be done with multicoil pickups, and it presents a very clean, even frequency response. The Lusithand Double NFP filter preamp has been specifically designed to work with this coil arrangement by utilizing dedicated inputs for each humbucker. This combination very closely simulates Wal MK electronics. Expect a strong defined sound, with excellent string-to-string separation and definition, as well as exceptional versatility and punch.

Filter based preamps work differently than normal preamps. Rather than boosting or cutting bass, treble, etc, they filter out frequencies that are higher than their set point. Plus, there is actually a boost to the frequency at the set point. This result is a preamp that works to change the voice of the bass, rather than just boosting/cutting a specific frequency.

Control Layout

Carbon Fiber Neck

Carbon Fiber is an exceptionally stable material and is impervious to changes in temperature and humidity. This means you can have a low action with no fuss.

Filter Based Preamp

The Lusithand Double NFP MKII preamp consists of two Resonant Peak filters, one for each pickup, that will totally flip your bass game around.

You can set the filters to very different frequencies and mix them together using the active Blend control to achieve unique and personalized tones that regular preamps wouldn’t allow.

Multicoil Pickups

The M1 Filter uses a pair of our "Code Breaker" multicoil pickups to capture every sonic detail while presenting a full, clean signal to the filter-based preamp. These are wired so that each pickup has 1 humbucker per string.
