Variable Voice Series

The Variable Voice (VV) series was designed to give you total control of your pickups response and overall tone.  Rather than buying multiple sets of pickups searching for the right set, you can now simply dial in the response that works best for you!

How they Work

The VV series has passive circuitry built right into the pickup that allows you to shift the location and height of the resonant frequency (RF) of the pickup.  The RF is what defines a pickups voice, and is the secret to a pickups overall tone.

There are 2 dials that are accessible from the top of the pickup.  Both of the dials can turn continuously in either direction, and there are 16 positions for each dial.

Resonant Frequency (RF) Dial:  This is the righthand side dial and the zero (highest pitch) is straight up.  As you turn the dial clockwise, the RF of the pickup is lowered.  Frequencies at or near this point are accented.  Lower frequencies are unaffected, and higher frequencies are cut off.

Q (Height of the resonant frequency) Dial:  This is the lefthand side dial and the zero (highest height) position is straight up.  As you turn the dial clockwise, the Q is lowered, and counter clockwise raises the Q.  High Q's have a strong characteristic sound, while low Q's are smoother, or rounder sound.
